Back to NOKIA

I got myself a new toy. It’s amazingly light(I had the impression it was heavy…), cool looking and very bright. Well, I have given up on chasing exotic phones and back to the mainstream. Yup, I got myself a Nokia N95.

And how did I even decide to get it is another interesting story. Well, on Sunday, I was bored and I began looking at the Starhub site. A promotion is going on right now which states that I decide to get another line, I will get a $100 off. But prior to this, I had the impression it meant that if I decided to re-contract, I will get the discount. I called Starhub and verified. I had the intention to get a new phone so I might as well take a look at the phones. Which turned out to be a horrid ride for me.

I was thinking to get a Sony Ericsson phone since it’s like the trend now. A look at the models….got me confused. Features, shapes and model numbers made me almost want to cry. Not to mention I do eye some other phones besides SE. So I decided to seek expertise. Officially, I declare Zheng Xian is a phone guru. All I did was that I just ask him which phone is good now. I gave him my requirements and immediately, I see links appearing. Reviews of the current top phones and those coming soon. I was more or less deciding on a SE W960i. Then I thought it would be a good idea to drag his ass out of his house. So I asked him if he want to follow. He came after all.

We went around looking and feeling the phones themselves. It appears that W960i might not be my piece of cake. Then we went Mac to settle dinner and I needed time to digest and decide. It’s quite painful to see what he had for dinner….so please don’t starve till bones (You are already halfway there…). It dawned to us that we never looked at N95 or its 8Gb counterpart. So we went to see it and I decided to get it. I went into some hiccups in getting it then it was back to Mac, the same seat we had, to play around with the phone. Then we went back home.

Back at home, the real fun began. He started pouring me with wares and apps sites and guides. And I was busily installing and playing around with them. Till the battery went dead. LOL. Well, I used to be a Nokia user way back then and I was also playing around with apps and wares too. It’s pretty amazing how people can develop such things to bring more usage and fun to a normal phone.

Well, here’s a big thank you to you, Zheng Xian. You really helped me a lot on this run. Really sorry to make you run around with me in AMK and troubling you these 2 days as you know more about it than me. I know you want to play with the phone so we just leave it till next time. ^^

Where’s MY Card???

Well, Zheng Xian wanted me to do a vlog unwrapping my new XFX 9600GT but sadly I still haven’t get my piece yet. So here’s a teaser good enough to make you drool! LOL

He’s getting his new rig after his O levels so it will be considerably a long wait. And oh ya, he finally started a blog after much persuasion. Helped out in his coding and he’s indeed a fast learner. Talking about html, he and a forum friend created a site that talks about Sony Ericsson W580i firmwares customisation. Feel free to drop by and leave comments.

Sunny Day - Kazue Fujiki

This Japanese movie (Sweet Rain 死神の精度) is coming to cinemas on 13th May. It’s basically talking about a Grim Reaper(Takeshi Kaneshiro) from Hell who comes up to the living world to claim his next soul. But he has a habit of spending 7 days with his victim then he decides whether to finish him/her or not. His next soul to claim is a girl (Konishi Manami) who works in the complaints department of a manufacturing company. A love tale spirals off from then….

This song featured in the movie is a singing debut of the actress herself using the name of the character she portrayed in the movie. Quite nice if you ask me. ^^ Dedicating it to someone who cause a taxi driver to get hit by a car.

What spilled out
Wasn’t a tear but a praying voice
What I looked up at
Was the sun above the clouds

I was living like I was asleep
I was always alone
Until the day I met you
I was always, always here

Even if there’s a love song
I could sing by myself
This warmth from the touch of your arms
Can’t be found alone

If I had put on a mask
Then I felt I might have forgotten
I shut away my memories
And locked them in a box

Even in that dark place
I was able to find you
Even if I can’t return
I’ll keep going farther, farther

Even if there’s a love song
That recalls loneliness
I can’t reach it alone
So I’ll walk out once more
Toward the door to tomorrow
With you…

I’ll transform sadness
Into kindness
And someday
Once I’ve set my true self free
The pain will disappear
I know it

I don’t need a love song
I can sing by myself anymore
I can’t find it alone
But with you I know
We can find a place where the sun shines
A tomorrow I’ve never seen

The Bible Of Life

It’s the kind of entry I have no idea how to even give it a title. But I know I must leave this package here for those who should see to know.

Have you wondered why we are around in this world? What’s the purpose of our existence? This is a difficult question no one can answer. But yet, that answer can be found within ourselves. Let just go all the way back to the time of birth. At the moment we are born, we are automatically bestowed with a purpose to eat. If anyone can remember, the most common phrase we would hear our parents say would be “Eat more, so you grow taller…”. Now when you are at school, we are bestowed with a purpose to study. Of course, the most common phrases you will hear would be “Study hard, I’ll buy you a toy when you pass with good grades..”, “Study hard, so others will not look down on you…” or “Study hard and you will get the course/school you want…”. Finally, when we are working, we are bestowed with the purpose to achieve. The common phrases we will hear would be “If I work hard enough, I will get a promotion…”, “If I am willing to think of new ideas, I will be able to be an entrepreneur…” or “If I’m able to pull this off, I will be a millionaire…”. We create what we are in this world. Our identity, motive and reason in all.

But life itself comes with some surprise and maybe some tragedies. Ups and downs. It’s a perfect balance. “You reap what you sow…”, “Failure is the mother of success…” or “No pain, no gain…”. These are the some of the common advice we will hear. They are usable in all aspect of life. Then, we are not alone in this world. There are all kinds of people in this world. Each person with his/her own set of principle and character. We learn how to talk or rather socialise with different people. Sometimes, we learn to gain friends and sometimes make enemies. Finally, we learn how to love a person.

“Love itself is a knowledge…” is a phrase I totally agree on. When we love a person, we are also accepting him/her as what they are and as a part of our life. We wish him/her to be happy to be with us and also care about them. But love do not necessarily means possession of him/her. We can love a person but it doesn’t mean we need to be always by his/her side nor he/she has to be always by my side. Love is a feeling where we know there’s a person who cares about us or someone we care about.

Finally, love can be blind. We sometimes have no idea the words we say or actions we do have any form of influence on others. We would need to learn how to balance or make sacrifices to love and personal life together. Love can cause internal strife between friends and even complicated relationships. Homosexuality, love triangle and even family problems. Love can also lead people to do foolish and irrational things.

I finally come up with the title. Not as to play God but then we are the God of our life. Now my wish is the circle can still sustain with the axis around. Haiz…

Prisoner Of Love

Another good song from Hikki’s new album Heart Station. Actually, this song is preferred by Brandon as it brings us to the Hikki we knew during the 1st album. And I feel people in love or lost in love can listen to the lyrics and get some resolve. This is my humble translation. Enjoy! (^^,)

Telling lies with a straight face
Laughing in a sick way
You said we are just having fun

Feeling blue over asking for more
Everyone is seeking for peace
You’re struggling for more when you’ve had enough
Now you’re just chasing after the shadow of love

My boring daily life has begun to shine
Since the day you appeared
I thought I could deal with loneliness and pain
I’m just a prisoner of love
Just a prisoner of love

Through sick times and healthy times,
Stormy days and sunny days, let’s walk together

I’m gonna tell you the truth
I chose a secret painful path
And you came to support me
You’re the only one I can call a friend

Fake displays of strength and greed become meaningless
Since the day you loved me
Freedom and time become pointless when I’m alone
I’m just a prisoner of love
Just a prisoner of love

Oh, Just a little more
Don’t you give up
Oh, I’ll never abandon you

This cruel reality tries to tear us apart
It’ll just bring us closer
I have a feeling that we’ll be able to do our best
I’m just a prisoner of love
Just a prisoner of love

My ordinary daily life has suddenly begun to shine
Since the day you stole my heart
I thought I could deal with loneliness and pain
I’m just a prisoner of love
Just a prisoner of love

Stay with me, stay with me
My baby, say you love me
Stay with me, stay with me
Don’t leave me alone

Mr Snowman

Somehow, someone jocked a certain part of my memory when he kept mentioning ‘waiting for winter to be over and the snowman to melt’. It’s a little tale I either read or heard about when I was young.

Henry lives with his mother in a small cottage in the middle of a forest. His father is out of the country doing business. Henry’s mother is a teacher. Winter covered the forest with snow and the lake had frozen to ice. Henry spent most of his time playing with his marbles.

Harvey is a friend of Henry and his family runs a grocery store in town. One fine day, Harvey dropped by to deliver some carrots and to play marbles with Henry. Henry’s mother is teaching English to the town children. When the lesson was over, the children’s parents came to fetch their children home. Henry watched them leave. Finally, Harvey’s father came to fetch Harvey home.

Henry sat by the window looking at the snow falling on the old pine tree wondering when his father would be back home. He had so much to tell to his father till tears started dropping from his eyes. His mother saw his tears and looked worried. Suddenly, she smiled.

The next day, Henry woke up and looked at his window. He was surprised to see a white figure standing next to the old pine tree. He ran down to the old pine tree and saw a snowman standing next to it. His mother looked surprised to see a snowman too.

There is something wrong with the snowman. It has no face. Seeing this, Henry’s mother said, “Would be it be nice that Mr Snowman has a face?” Hearing this, Henry looked for a pair of blue marbles and fixed it onto the snowman. “Why did you choose blue marbles?” Henry’s mother asked. “Father has blue eyes, so I want Mr Snowman to have blue eyes too.” Henry answered. Then he looked for a carrot and stuck it in the middle of the snowman’s head. Finally, he collected some pebbles and lined up a mouth on the snowman’s head. Now, the snowman has a smiling face.

But the snowman is not complete. It has no arms. Henry’s mother said, “Hmm…Mr Snowman has no hands. Could you also do something for him?” Henry ran into the house and picked up a couple of firewoods from the fireplace and stuck each at either side of the snowman. Now, the snowman has a pair of arms.

The snowman is still not complete. It has no clothes. Seeing this, Henry took off his gloves and put them onto the snowman’s hands. He also took off his scarf and winded it around the snowman’s neck. Finally, he took a scissor and snipped off the buttons on a jacket. He lined it up on the snowman’s body. Now, the snowman has clothes.

The snowman is finally complete. Henry would spend his time playing with his friends around the snowman and talk to the snowman about what happened in school and how much he missed his father. Mr Snowman was his best friend.

Then it came the time of the winter when the harsh winds blew. Henry and his mother had to leave for shelter. Henry wasn’t willing to leave Mr Snowman alone. “Mr Snowman will wait for your father to be home and tell him that we are safe.” Henry’s mother said. Henry left reluctantly, hoping Mr Snowman to tell his father that they were safe.

Winter was bad that year and the route back home was blocked by snow. Henry and his mother had to wait till spring come to melt the snow away. Spring finally came and the snow went away.

Henry finally went back home with his mother. Mr Snowman was no longer standing next to the old pine tree. All left was a puddle of water and some snow. Henry began to cry in his mother’s embrace. Suddenly, he heard a familiar voice. Henry rubbed his eyes and looked at his father emerging out of the house. His father came back home after all. He ran and hugged his father.

Suddenly, Henry’s mother said, “Look, Mr Snowman left a present for Henry!” There was a small rainbow at where Mr Snowman stood. “Oh! I forgot Mr Snowman said that he is going away but he will be back next winter.” Henry’s parents smiled at each other simultaneously.

Henry smiled.

Okay, I confess I’m not a good storyteller but that’s about all I can remember. I did shorten some parts here and there but I hope most will get the story. Actually, there are some relation to life in the story so I shall leave it to the next entry or you can ask me about them. (^^,)>>

A Slap To The End

It came as a shock to me when I read the news in the forum. My gaming friend, Wilson Chia, is being kicked out of CGS(Championship Gaming Series) after slapping his general manager in the face. To refresh people’s memory, he is the 2nd place in DoAU in WCG2005 held in Singapore.

According to information gathered everywhere, he had been under tremendous stress due to the poor management of the general manager who himself originated as a champion for the game Project Gotham Racing. And to add matter worse, the GM had been breaking all rules and regulations to get his fiance to play along with him. The slap took place when his fiance lost the match held in China terribly and Wilson couldn’t take it anymore. CGS banned him from the game without any investigation and with immediate effect. I’m quite surprised that he got a lot of fans worldwide that supports his reason. Now most of them are wishing that he will be able to join CGS again.

It’s really disgusting that a game can be taken so politically and monetary. A game is created that everyone will have fun playing. Actually, a week back, a similar case had happened to one of my gaming friends. Some people just are unable to differentiate between reality and virtual reality anymore…

Hot…Stuffy…HELP

I have taken a bathe prior writing this and now I’m wet again by my sweat. My fan is not helping as it’s blowing warm breezes. Too bad, no one can see my sexy six packs. LOL!

I will be making a trip down later to check out the gym and hopefully I will be motivated (or demotivated…) to join. Well, just yesterday, I got an outdoor sales personnel from California Fitness trying to promote a $1 per day scheme that last for 30 days. The offer is inviting then it occurs me that ain’t California Fitness one of the popular gyms around? Must it need to do outdoor sales?

Well, I’m expecting a change by end of this year. Hope it can be fulfilled… (^^,)>>

Ironman…

Thanks to Zhengxian that I receive this photo 3 days later… -_-

Thanks to my great photoshopping skills, this picture is saved from ZX’s lousy phone camera…

Well, after work, I rushed down to meet the kids to watch Ironman. The show’s pretty great on the special effects and the suit itself is enough to make me drool. But the storyline’s kinda weak. Then again, it’s Marvel doing a movie by themselves for the 1st time.

Will be playing the PSP game of the movie later. Hope got a lot of aerial battles. ^^

“You Don’t Understand Me…”

I believe this is a common excuse/reason/quote when people feel they are being misunderstood. But to me, no one can truly understand oneself. If there is such a person, there will be no conflict/problem/war/backstabbing/misunderstanding. If one can understand his/her own self, there will be no regret/mistake/doubt/suspicion/misunderstanding.

A individual wants the other person to understand what he/she says/does and the same individual assumes he/she understands the other person’s words or actions. Different people have different points of view or opinions on things. Conflicts or misunderstandings will arise from lack of understanding from both parties. Sometimes, worse things might happen. I remember hearing these words a long time back. It marked the end of a friendship…..and a young life. I had always thought I knew him well…

I didn’t know today it was a special day till a friend reminded me. Upon thinking about him, I had a lot to type out but it proves hard. They are precious memories and I cherish them. Before anyone has any doubts about their friendships, please think back the good memories you all had. It needs both parties to have mutual understanding to get things going, thus the saying: You need two hands to clap.

People do change but memories don’t.

P.S: I’m sorry if today’s entry kinda like catch-no-ball…cos I really dunno how to go on typing…haiz…
