It had been a great time working with her for the past five months.

Well, yesterday marked the last working day of my female colleague. Most of her regulars came back to see her one final time or messaged best wishes to her phone. Eddy bought a salt-baked chicken for her. The office girls came back to see her for the final time. Her “King” treated her a cup of soya beam milk. Unfortunately, Julian came at a wrong time when she wasn’t around.

As for me, it was pretty an awkward day. I could see that she missed the shop and the people there. I tried to talk as much as possible to her as it would be the last chance I could. Well, for me, since I tend to be a bit emotional, I felt a sense of emptiness inside me. No more I will see her interesting facial expressions. No more I will see her talk about unreasonable people. No more I can joke with her….

Most people will agree that I might have a liking for her. Well…frankly speaking, I really don’t know. Maybe I am, maybe not. It might be the reason that I enjoy a person’s company. And indeed she’s someone who left a deep impression in me. Although we have a large age gap between us, we were able to communicate well.

I guess she will never see this blog of mine but still…..best wishes to your dream of becoming a nurse. I will miss you.

Well, it was really a boring day till this joker came into my shop. Here’s what happened…

(This guy came into the shop and pondered over the counter.)
Me: Hi. Anything I can help you with?
Him: Oh, give me 4 packs of Dissension. I want to choose.
(I took 4 packs of Dissension out of the box…)
Him: Give me the whole box to choose.
Me: I’m sorry…I can allow you to choose in fours.
Him: Give me the box…it’s okay…I’m not choosing for foils.
(My mind went blank for a while….)
Me: I’m sorry. It’s my company’s practice to allow you to only choose in fours…
(The guy went off before I can finish my sentence…)

For some people who might “catch no ball”, in a standard pack of Magic the Gathering trading card, there’s a rare chance you will get a foil card. Unless you know the technique to “feel” or choose, you are much getting random cards on pure luck. A foil card is either powerful, useful or valuable. There are a few techniques to choose for foils like pressing or rubbing the aluminum packing against the cards sealed inside. And it’s my company’s practice to sell them off in this way as being fair to others and also prevent people from shoplifting.

The joke is that since the cards are random….what’s the need to choose when all the cards are random. He’s just lying through his teeth that he’s not choosing for foils when he is. After he left, my colleague and I were laughing our heads off. That sure lightens up the tension for today. LOL.

Finally, another off day for me. Tuseday. Maybe it’s time to sing. Or else join them in DoTA?

I’m actually perspiring as I’m typing this entry. Seems that the heat wave is coming in which will explain the massive attacks of bloodthirsty mosquitoes on my poor legs. Which also mean killing season too. LOL.

Nothing much happened lately. Just the usual work, eat and sleep routine. I finally got a new phone as my sister’s Panasonic GD92(Used to be mine…) went out of commission and I gave her the imode phone. I got myself a Toshiba 904T Vodafone since AhSiaKia and I agreed mutually that the phone is much suitable for me. I took a while to decide on which model as I’m pretty a noob on this range of phones. I comtemplated in getting the Sharp models but then I prefer usage over quality. Sharp is good but I realised that my camera can fare better than it.

Today’s a pretty normal rest day. Woke up early to go through my emails, watch some backlog anime or movies then play a couple of bouts on Dead or Alive 4. Then I went out to Bishan to get some coupons for Valentine. Unfortunately, they were given out totally as usual. Next destination, the long awaited Funan Digimall. It has been a while since I drop by Gamescore. On a side note, Stanley happened to be on off when I looked for him in Ogawa. When I reached INBOX 5, I was pretty shocked about what I saw. A lot of shops were closed. It was till I asked the Canon lady stationed outside Gamescore that I learnt that most of the shops had moved out or to lower floors of Funan. Business in INBOX 5 was never that promising as it was almost like an isolated part of the building. It is really a bliss that Deli and Jaclyn are not affected as they created quite a good reputation for themselves.

After getting a miniSD card for the phone, I met up with Valentine at KFC. We proceeded to have dinner at Kenny Roger’s after getting Val’s custom made shirt from a tailor at Raffles Hotel Arcade. As usual, we talked things and such. Then Valentine got some sushis from Carrefour and wanted to go to Robinson’s sale. Which he bought 3 ties at $90. A great deal. But seems like he splurging on his business wear. $165 on a shirt. o.O

I realised throughout the day my shirt was never dry. The weather gonna kill me. Seems a good reason to have cold bath nowadays. But then, I feel so sticky right now…..wanna bathe but it’s so late already….

It’s common for people to spend more when they have some extra cash. Yup, I’m talking about the Progress Package that suddenly appeared on the 28th of April instead of Labour Day. Although it’s just a temporary loan, well….who cares anyway right.

It also came just in time as I spent some cash getting some games. Talk about reimbursement hur. Lol. So I indulged myself with the extra cash and got myself a new pair of spectacles. Remember I always mentioned about getting one? I got myself a d’ Arts frame and a pair of Transitions lens. I also paid a whopping $350 for it. Well, I will not be wearing it much except for appropriate situations.

But my original plan was to get a new phone. My NEC N411i is still okay but getting the imode phone was an emergency then. But then, I was very confused of the model to get. Seriously, almost all phones have similar features. It’s just a matter of which brand. I ever thought of getting a Vodafone but I’m a noob to this range of phone. AhSiaKia once lent me his 903SH but I still can’t get used to it. As I was allowed to use it for just a day…. -_-” Well, I didn’t manage to get a new phone as I needed to pay back my sister some cash. Which she used it to decorate the house with plants. She bought a pot of jasmine and a pot of roses. Not to mention a new set of wardrobe. T_T I WANT A NEW PHONE!!! There’s still some cash left but I’m saving it up for some impromptu splurging. LOL.

Talking about impromptu, Valentine got me out last week for Popeye at Terminal 1. It was quite a sudden invitation like I got him calling me around 9pm using Sky’s phone where I was still at work. Well, since I had never tasted Popeye, I went along. So it was nearly a 45 minutes ride from Kovan to Terminal 1. Glad to see Sky as it’s been a while since I saw him at the chalet. I didn’t know what to have as Popeye is much like a KFC clone. Chicken, chicken and more chicken. I got myself a Chicken Strips set with mashed potatoes and cajun fries. Valentine highly recommends the fries as they taste much like A&W’s curly fries. But the mashed potatoes was a downside. Mashed potatoes with some rice and meat. Weird concoction….My stomach revolted at the end. While eating, we talked about things and stuffs. Then it was time to go. Did spent a bit on the return trip though. Hehe.

Something weird happened today. When I came back home from lunch, I saw this lady at my doorstep. She asked if my house could be used for filming. She was holding a stack of letters and I saw the words “Mediacorp” on them. I refused entry as I don’t allow strangers in. Then she went off. But you know what’s really weird? When I saw her initially, she seemed to have been waiting outside my house for a while. Even as I walked towards the door, she stood there. Then she asked if I was the resident. Upon hearing my refusal, she left immediately. For info, my house is between 2 units. She could have tried and asked the next unit but she just walked down the stairs and left. I wondered why she chose my house and in what ways my house appealed to her only. Well…I don’t know.

Urgh, I want a new phone but I don’t know which one to get. Time to save up for one anyway.
