Good News

Well, it turns out that I will still be getting the white PSP as someone found a way to downgrade. Once the code is broken, it’s broken. LOLX

Just as I was mentioning about finding the primary school guys, I saw Edwin yesterday. We last met at the coffeeshop below my house and at that time, he was in university. But I do have my doubts as I tried to look for him on Friendster before. His face looks exactly like he was in primary school but the crux that proves that he’s Edwin is that he has the 2 moles at the exact spot on his face. The unique thing about my primary school guys and me is that we don’t change much on our faces. He was with a girl so I guess he’s attached. Looks like it’s time to contact Andy aka Zongjian as he once said he had contacts.

I’m finally getting a digital camera. Thanks to Starhub Rewards programme. 1000 points plus $215. I was hoping that I’m able to redeem the camera with just the points only. A Olympus C-180. Great anyway as I own a Olympus analogue camera.

You know…my heart missed a beat when I learnt that the downgrade is possible. 2 days remaining!

Grilled Chicken

I finally got the chance to savour the Grilled Chicken Set in the food court on Level 6 of Plaza Singapura. It took quite a while and the staffs serving were quite slow too. That explains the long queue.

Earlier on, I saw some of my buddies from army and I’m still trying very hard to recall their names. Maybe a trip in Friendster’s should help. It’s quite surprisingly that I met them all at the same location and even best, they were in different groups. Singapore is small but even though I still can’t find most of my primary school dudes. Overseas? Man, that will be “Overkill” on the guys.

Now, i’m grilled between the issue of getting a 1.5 set or a 2.0 set since firmware 2.0 has been cracked. I’m looking forward to turn the little gadget more multi-tasking. Can someone sell me their 1 Gig memory sticks? LOLX

Slow

I almost thought the Day 2 of class will be a short and sweet as the trainer is Xiao Wei. Well, she did delivered the class in a professional and fun way(Unlike Ah Soon…) but I can see she’s trying to stall for time by giving us long breaks and a long lunch. Oh ya, I got 90% for this course. ^^

One big reminder to myself…don’t ever take a bus to Funan from elsewhere again. Not that I took a wrong bus but the route was pretty long. Not to mention it’s not the 1st time anyway. MRT is my best friend now.

Ah, I forgot to eat the laksa at Kovan. Well, after all, it was Timothy that introduced me to this stall. Counting from today, he will be leaving us for Australia a month later. Seriously, I wish he can stay longer. By the way, he’s helping out at GameScore currently and I can see that he will make a excellent salesperson. And also, he’s almost accompanied by visits from the guys every day till a point that I can see he’s a bit uneasy on. The longer the affection, the harder the separation. It applies to all relationships not just love only. Well, it may sound silly as he’s not dying or worse. I must persuade him to get a webcam. LOLX.

I’ve been contemplating to get some stuffs from Cash Converters. But I’m in a dilemma as I doubt the conditions of items inside the stores. For example, I saw a Nokia 6260 but the power/call button was cracked. The price for it was cheap too.. $299. All items are covered by a one month’s warranty. It sucks. I have to say it sucks. But I will need to get a 2nd hand memory stick soon.

Thanks Thomas for keeping tab of the countdown for me. 6 days remaining!

Boring

I had my orientation program today. Learnt some history about the company and most importantly of all, free lunch. YOSHINOYA!!!! But there was a test later in the afternoon

That trainer is like a monk. He stammers and makes lame jokes. He almost made my blood boil. He made me feel asleep thrice. The afternnon was terrifying to me, kudos to him.

Luckily, I got 85% in the test. Timothy got his “Buu” shirt from Joon who was back from his trip to Japan with Derek.

Back To the 8

After a horrifying 2 weeks at Takashimaya, it’s home sweet home back to Junction 8. Damn…I sure miss all the staffs and familiar surroundings. But GNA(Term for the Takashimaya outlet) do have its good points. Due to the reason that it’s in Orchard, I passed my time pretty fast there as there were people coming in constantly.

Thanks to the gang who suggested various eating spots in Orchard when I told them I’ll be going there. Adam and Brandon suggested the $2(Now $2.50…lol) eating place on the 6th floor of Lucky Plaza. I went and I quite like the selection of food there thought it seems Filipino turf. But there’s one eatery I kept going back often. It’s on the 3th floor and it’s only recognisable by the “Yong Tau Fu” signboard. Their fried rice is delicious and quite unique compared to the ones I tried before. The main point is that I like the ambience of the eatery. Quiet and there seems to have this relaxing atmosphere.

Oh ya…I forgot to mention that I saw Staff Wee yesterday on the way back home. He just ended his army career 6 months back and I can see if he’s trying to bend in into normal life. Also heard from him that Warrant Shue is in overseas and may be ending his army career soon too. It may sound corny but Staff Wee and me shared some father-and-son relationship during the time I was in SAFPU.

Well, I had an extraordinary army life compared to others. First, I was assigned to a welfare company during BMT. My sergeats were total jokers and there were less stress from them. Then comes SAFPU. I was assigned to QM by Chief Clerk. One thing about Chief Clerk she seems to emit some motherly aura around her. And I actually respected her like my mother. My stay in QM wasn’t for long till I was asked to help out in the cookhouse. Both Staff Wee and Warrant Shue were total computer illiterate. Can’t be blamed as they were long term soldiers. My job there was to help them out in creating forms and charts by using Excel and doing some papaerworks. And you know the best part in working in the cookhouse? FREE food. And the Staffs from Singapore Food Industries were great people too. We were like one big family. People may complain about the physical and mental stress they faced during national service but deep in my heart, I’m just laughing away. Okay….gonna stop before I get ambushed. LOLX.

Gonna do somekind of a countdown. 10 days remaining. ^^

Zuru zuru…

Zuru zuru…Zuru zuru…

This line came from Tifa from the movie Final Fantasy VII Advent Children. I’m now in a similar state as how Cloud feels.

My good friends tell me not to bother or care about their actions and words. Seriously…I’m doing that. But I’m a living mortal of feelings and emotions. And it’s not even fair that I should abandon everything or anything.

I’m aware of my mistakes and I’m doing my best to make it up. Is it selfish of me to ask for forgiveness?

Waseda Shibuya Open House 2005

I’m glad to be able to wake up on time even though I had a late night of watching Densha Otoko and I didn’t set my alarm clock on. I managed to get to Waseda Shibuya Senior High around 11am despite pondering over what to wear.

The first thing I did was to take a look at the food hall which the whole gang only took a peek last year. The students were demonstrating how to blow big bubbles which I find it amusing. I found Valentine, Brandon, Ben and his girlfriend and Ben’s friend(Erm, I forget to ask his name…)” stting in the Orchid Cafe. Thomas also came in with his group of cosplay friends. I got myself a sake onigiri and a cream bun.

We went around the place exploring each room. It seems pretty much the same as last year. But the highlight seems to be the Densha Otoko live play by Class 2C. We went for the 2.10pm show.

The students did a very good job though. Although there were some mishaps that happened during the play, it was pretty much enjoyable. The male lead posed often for Valentine’s camera as we went sitting on the front line and the guy’s pretty much a hot favourite(joker too) among their own class. Before Densha, we went for a suspence maze of trying to find the culprit who killed a guy. We were accompanied by a student who cosplayed as a cop. We managed to find the culprit(Kudos to Ben!!) and I was supposed to help to cuff him. But the cuffs were obvious a toy and it can’t fit. Both the students and us were laughing away. ^^:

The gang sorta went their ways around the school. After getting some water yo-yo with Valentine, we left and went off to Takashimaya as I left my time sheet in the shop and Valentine needed to check out Ipod Nano at Wheelock Place. We settled for dinner at Crystal Jade Palace in Takashimaya. Valentine wanted to “test water” if we could get away if we just order 2 bowls of plain porridge. We ended up eating assorted porridges and a plate of Yi Fu noodles. I have to say this….the service is very bad there. The waitress interrupts abruptly as we are talking by just taking the order sheets suddenly. She could have asked. After dinner, we went home.

Yeah! I have 2 consecutive off days thanks to lack of communication between the 2 outlets. It means it will be a long week for me. Damn, I can’t wait for 30th to come! -_-”

Final Fantasy VII Advent Children

To put it in simpler words, the movie rocks.

The action kicks in right at the beginning till the end and there’s no time to take a leak or breath. Maybe this creates the only flaw about the movie that the storyline is pretty much rushed. The characters looks way better than their game counterparts especially Cloud. His Super Saiyan-jin spikey hair looks more realistic now. It seems that a great deal of effort is done on the high speed bike chases and there’s a Matrix-que approach to it. The music sound great and familiar as well as it seems some are imported and remixed from the Final Fantasy VII Piano Collection.

To give a summary of the movie, it starts as 3 silver haired men appears on a cliff looking at the city of Midgar. Nothing is being revealed about how they existed but since they called Cloud as Brother, they might be subjects from the Jenova experiment. Kadaj is the leader of the trio and carries a twin bladed katana. Yazoo is a Dante-que character as he carries a twin sword arms. Loz is a crybaby and he’s armed with a lightning gauntlet. One amusing scene of Loz is when he was knocked down by Tifa Lockheart, his handphone rang. His ringing tone is the famous Final Fantasy VII victory tune. The trio is searching for their Mother which is actually Jenova.

Cloud is still blaming himself for the loss of Aeris who is killed by Sephiroth. The world is plagued of a disease known as Geostigma as a punishment of using the Lifestream for evil intentions. Aeris makes appearances in form of hallucinations from Cloud and the whole gang from the game returns as well. There’s one exciting battle when the gang fights a Sin Bahamut.

To end it, I will give a thumb’s up. As I say in everywhere, it’s a Final Fantasy movie that gone right. Spirits Within….blah… (^^,)>>

Reformat

As you can see, the blog is going through a new phase. I have reverted back to using Wordpress again. It seems that my old Blogger had a habit of shutting down my Internet Explorer and I kinda agree on some features that Blogger lacks. It’s still very basic as you can see. I will sort my entries and fill all other details in. It’s gonna take a while but it’s worth it. Many thanks to Valentine for helping me with the shifting and technical support.

It’s the time of the year again where every gamer has a chance to be one of the best players in the world. Yes, the World Cyber Games is back and I went for the opening ceremony on Thursday. I met up with the good people of GameAxis, Waileng, Donald, Breaker, Brendam, Aaron and the rest of the Halo 2 elites. Well, they were there to collect their battle tags and goodie bags.

The opening ceremony kicked off with a performance of Chinese festive drums performed by a group of secondary school boys. I was pretty impressed on the endurance and speed of the boys as they were throbbing continously and swapping places for about 10 mins. The sounds from their drums caught everyone’s attention and the speed of their playing was breathtaking. It must have taken them quite a while for such great teamwork. After the performance, speeches were given. Then the ceremony ended in an anti-climax. A band formed up of grassroots were playing in a jazz manner till everyone was pretty bored. The audience dispensed before they finished playing. Well, I rather wished the drum performance was at the end. Oh ya, I also met up with a teenage customer of mine who bought a shirt and a pair of pants. He happened to be wearing the pants. He’s playing in the game of DOTA.

Today, Joon came down to the shop to buy some shirts for his trip to Japan with Derek and such a concidence that I also met up with an army friend of mine, Norman, who also bought some shirts from me. I ended up giving them all the vouchers. I still have vouchers for Topman/Topshop, Fox Apparels and many others so if you want, give me a buzz. Limited supplies only. Joon came back to the shop with Derek around 9pm which I was around Suntec City with Valentine and Sky. I did mentioned I was leaving early….

I finally took a bite on a burger from Carl’s Junior and it was pretty cold. But the free flow of beverage and condiments were great. We were trying to empty the whole bottle of grounded peppers. As usual, Valentine took pictures of the new burger he savoured and my burger tasted like teriyaki chicken when Santa Fe chicken was supposed to be spicy(According to Valentine…) We talked for quite a long while before we departed our ways back home.

That’s so much for tonight. Suddenly, my bed looks pretty inviting. Maybe I’ll go stand near the edge and go “TIM…..BER….!!!!”
