Natsu Matsuri 2005
This year’s Natsu Matsuri was a special one for me. Not that I had to miss Bon Odori to attend the wake but it was also Timothy’s first and last summer festival. Well, it depends on him if he specially flies back from Australia to attend next year. He was wearing that “GUI” t-shirt he got from Geestore. I am certainly getting a piece for myself in future. For the first time, I got to see Valentine and Thomas both in a yukata and everyone seems interested about this girl who was seen walking around with Valentine. Both Ben and Swahmi came for Natsu Matsuri despite they just booked out from camp. I haven’t seen Swahmi ever since he went into National Service and he was in his usual hip-hop attire. He doesn’t seem to change much. The rest of the sgGamers turned up and also the groups from #FinalFantasy and #cosplay as well. I also met Rongqiang’s classmates as well. It was such a surprise they remembered me despite that we only first met at Rongqiang’s birthday last year. I saw Brendam and his girlfriend but this year, I didn’t see Adam Yuta around. I also asked about him and I heard he was coming late and other stuffs. Ha…some people just don’t change.
As usual, there was the extreme long queue for the curry rice but I went for the sushis and the yakitori store moved up near the school’s compound. The weather also never failed to keep us dehydrated. Timothy was hinting to camp at the children playground.(How old are you!!! LOL!) This year, there was a new sausage store(I might have missed it in the previous years…). Sky went and bought a past edition Natsu Matsuri t-shirt. Well, I’m still amazed by the spending power of this young male. LOL. There were a lot of taiko performances this year and there were the usual J-POP dances by the individual polytechnics. I really wanted to spend more time with the gang but I had my duties to be fulfilled at the wake. So I went off around half past eight.
I was thinking whether to blog about the wake but I decided to respect my uncle and to keep it mum(The parlour crew pissed me off…). Today, my uncle was buried in the same cemetery where my grandma is. It was also a good time to interact with my relatives’ children.
I am beginning to like my new job although it is still bizarre. I wouldn’t say someone forced me to write this. OOPS! LOLX!
