Magic

Among all the soundtracks of Gundam, only Stardust Memories have the best songs and scores in it. Well, it kinda suits my principle of good music: “Music that moves me…”

This song is the ending theme of the anime. So enjoy! (^^,)>>

Don’t come to me, just cause you’re lonely tonight
Lonely’s only part of your game
Long as you live, you must remember one thing
Give and take are one in the same
So tell me are you ready, really really ready
I don’t want your love for one night

~Chorus~
‘Cause I’m not lookin’ for a love affair
I need the magic when I hold you near
It’s more important than a one night stand
I need the magic when I touch(Touch…) your hand

Don’t waste my time with empty stories of love
I’ve wasted too much time on my own
If I don’t find the right solution for me
I’d rather stay at home all alone
(’Cause) I’m the one who wants you
Oh…how much I want you
But baby it’s just got to be right

*Chorus

I need you oh so close to my heart
Come into my world, we can share everything there
I need the magic right from the start(Magic…)
Then you’ll be my lover, magic undercover
No one will be stopping us now

*Chorus X2

Singapore Idol?

Simon Cowell.

This name literally strikes terror in all who loves to sing and perform. What most people can’t stand about him are his bluntness and….of course….his frankness.

Well, today seems like everyday but I had a concert to catch in the evening. It was Singapore Polytechnic’s Talentime 04/05. And the best part, Tachikawa was going to perform. It was a good chance for me to see him perform live. Met up with Brandon, Thomas, Mun Chiew, Timothy and Ben for the event.

Here I must state this. SINGAPORE POLYTECHNIC, YOUR SPEAKER SYSTEM SUCKS! The whole contest could be a much better success sans the sudden bursts and howling of the speakers. I mean…I’m already deaf in one ear….I don’t want the other to suffer too. -_- And also I really wonder if there were qualifiers to the contest as the contestants’ talents were oddly unbalanced.

In the solo event, I had very high hopes for the last guy. It was almost like listening from his CD but yet he showed enjoyment and self-esteem. He won as I expected. The unbalanced one from the lot had to be the gal who sang Mulan’s Reflection. Well, just like one of the judges hinted, I have no idea why she’s there. The 2nd placer knows her stuffs well but she kinda tried a bit too steel. Oh, we got a reprised singer from Singapore Idol. A pity tha his singing is too chilly that almost 10% of the audience disappeared suddenly.

The group event was much more interesting. Other than hearing the same song thrice, they were literally trying to break the sound barrier. Maybe I don’t appreciate this kind of music but I judge according to my standards. I actually expected the band whose lead singer(A Malay) danced at the end and sang Jay Chou’s “An Jing” in the beginning of their performance to win. He actually sang the songs in his own way which I find it’s a cool factor. I guess his 2nd song broke his luck. The winner earned what he deserved He delivered the song well and the band’s coordination was excellent. The odd one out have to be the band with the weird vocal lead. His voice is definitely normal. But I think he thinks he will score well with his unique style of singing. One band leader did a great feat of being the drummer and the vocal at the same time.

Oh…and about Tachikawa, I finally saw Grace in real life. And it appeared that he didn’t do what I expected. I wanted to hear “Last Song” but……(sigh). But he was in a group and he played the piano. Fortunately, he got quotes for his piano playing and his chorus singing. Well his group got a Token of Participation prize.

Well, what’s so “Simon Cowell” about this? Of course, the judges. I can notice they were trying to be like him but failing ultimately. But the most interesting judge have to be Thomas’ sister See Kay. Other than not failing to start her judging with a “Hi! (The performer(s)’s name)”, she almost agitated the supporters in the auditorium.

I always enjoy this kind of musical performances. I hope I can perform one day. But then, I must master the next level of glass shattering. (^^,)>>

P.S: Thomas, protect your sister. LOL!

Waraku

Today’s a memorable day for me. A million thanks to all my friends that turned up for the dinner. We rocked Waraku and you all rocked my heart. I thought I wouldn’t pull this off but thanks. Many many thanks! All 25 of you! (^^,)>>

It was a busy day for me too. I was literally keeping tabs of who’s coming and who’s not coming at the last minute. Surprisingly, it turned out that most of those who were tentative in coming were coming.

I made a trip down to GameScore to meet up with the gamers. Then 5.30pm came and I went to Somerset to meet my friends with Kenneth. Lancer and Stanley were there. Then Rongqiang came. My secondary schools came as well and I got them to go to the location first as some of them were close to the restuarant. Then the masse of gamers came. Imagine a group of 13 people walking along Orchard Road. POWER!

But then, at the dinner, we splitted into 3 groups amicably. Gamers, secondary friends and tertiary friends. Well, I confess I’m a bad host, so sorry for any inconveniences caused. Thanks to Wai Leng, we all had a 10% discount which i would say more like the service charge is waived. After the dinner, the groups went their separate ways and I followed with the games to X-Zone then home.

Time to see what I got….
- A table calendar with a clock function.(Ahem….)
- A Casio Edifice wristwatch
- A Devil May Cry 3 handphone strap(Dante!!!)
- A Predator shaped wire figure
- A Final Fantasy badge(Proudly given by Cheng Kai…)

Well, this success means a bigger event for next year. Just for info, “Waraku” means happiness together(He Le). Once again, I wish to give my sincere thanks to all that turned up. You all made my day full of happiness! ^^

(Pics will be up soon… ^^)

Anticipation

Ah….this phrase is so true. Time goes by within a blink of an eye.

The preparations for this Saturday are almost done. I’m expecting a major turnout. Well, if it really pulls off, it would be a memorable event for me.

Hmmm, Kouhaku’s auditions are going to start soon. Well, I actually have a urge to join but I think let the youngsters enjoy. I’m hoping to hear more new voices this year. Speaking of voices, I never knew there are good J-pop bands in Singapore. But sometimes, overdoing it can be a noise hazard to some people.

My wildest plan is to sing “Last Song” with Kane. I gonna shatter some glass. Lolx. ^^

Scorn Of The Day

Taxi drivers suck!

Why am I saying this? Well, let me relate what happened on today….

I went out after taking a bath. The afternoon was quite sunny. I have to go to the shophouses across the road to get some errands done. While crossing the road, few vacant taxis went past. After doing the errands, I tried to flag one a taxi down. All was taken. I looked in front. No one was waiting for a taxi. But I went across the road as it’s more appropriate to get to the location from that direction of the road. In front of me stood a lady. Okay, just one person delaying, I thought. I stood there for almost 30 minutes. Yup, no available taxi. By that time, there’s a couple of people waiting for taxi on the other side of the road.

Finally, the lady in front flagged a taxi. Okay, I’m next, I thought. Then this lady, who was waiting on the other side of the road, crossed the road and stood there. THAT WAS IT! I walked in front of her and stood there. Then a taxi came. I could see her pissed off look while the vehicle passed by her.

Well, I always wonder why do taxi drivers have to change shift at the wrong location? One driver was on the way to Bedok for shift-changing and he was in Ang Mo Kio. Given the possibilities, he might not get a single passenger. But why? Stupidlity?

One more moment of stupidlity. I was so desperate that I tried to flag a vacant taxi that was across the road. This driver stared at me as he drove past me. Am I too handsome or he forget how to do a U-turn?

Even after more taxi companies appear, I find that there’s not much increase of taxi flow. Maybe some drivers jump from one company to another? Well, we definitely need more public transport.

Sophia’s Wish

Well, actually I have been hunting for this song for a long while ever since I heard it on television. A bit of introduction of the group…JS is a Taiwanese group formed by elder brother and younger sister, Justin and Sophia respectively. As you guessed, this song is named after the sister. Actually this song has not much relation to the real person but what moves me isn’t just the catchy tune but the lyrics written by Justin. The song is a description of life. As in the song, maybe we are no different from Sophia.

Sophia, she left home
To fulfill a dream she’s expecting
Farewell to her parents
And the grocery store lady across the lane
Who saw her grow up since young

Sophia, she keeps to herself
Having weird ideas about this world
Although no one understands her
Maybe she will glitter like a star
Upon the city she dreamt of

Forgive her for having this wish
Just like every child will do
Difficult? There’s a price to pay
Only God can make it come true

Carrying hopes along with her heavy luggage
Going on an adventure
Maybe she will struggle or be afraid
It doesn’t matter ‘cos Heaven’s waiting at the end

Seeing no stars in this glittering city
Her tears start to flow
The world’s too small for her impossible dreams
Maybe Life’s a cruel joke

Sophia, she cut her long hair short
And put on makeup on her innocent face
Although she doesn’t like the new her
Yet she kept comforting herself
It’s not the worst scenario

They say the price to realise your dreams
Is to sacrifice a part of yourself
But when she looks at her image
Wondering “Is this what I wanted”?

Maybe you heard of her, Sophia
Or you are just like her
Give her some consolation

Seeing no stars in this glittering city
Her tears start to flow
No matter how small the world or how big her dreams
Life wouldn’t be a cruel joke

Carrying hopes along with her heavy luggage
Going on an adventure
No matter how small the world or how big her dreams
She wouldn’t change, Sophia

Pardon my humble translation of the lyrics but I have kept it close to human understanding. Just like Sophia, we all have dreams and ambitions. Sometimes we dare to think of the impossibles and engross in fulfilling them. During the process, we might start to differ from the rest of the world and start to hate ourselves. We might also start to deceive ourselves.

Change is inevitable. But being what you really are matters a lot. Being true to yourself. Being able to realise your dreams. Like my earlier entry, it’s a fact. ^^

Dual Identities

What would you do if you think your current life isn’t up to your expectations?

What would you do if you want to be more superior than others?

What would you do if you can be someone other than yourself?

Well, these questions were lingering in my mind on the way back from Bugis yesterday. I had a very interesting Sunday. Not only that I get to show my Street Fighter skills to the masse, I actually went up close and personal with a group of people that I am always amazed with. Cosplayers. Well, they appeared at the Dotcon toy convention at Excelsior Hotel. Valentine and Sky were also there, taking photos of the cosplayers. And not forgeting SpikeOut.(Keep forgeting his real name…) I actually played a few matches with Choji(Erm..I still haven’t get some cosplayers’ real names…) and interacted with the rest of the cosplayers. They are mostly younger than me. I did managed to find someone close my age and not to forget RayWing(Andy). Andy happens to live just across a road from my block. When the event was over, I followed them to have dinner at Hisatomo.

One of them…Lao Peh/Gai Sensei(Weilun) ordered soba and learnt that he can’t take in cold food. Now…what surprised(Still do…) me is that once a cosplayer washes away the paints and changes into his/her normal clothes, he/she is no different from a normal person. The time and effort to make their costumes and to behave and talk like the characters they are cosplaying. The satisfaction of being recognised as someone that’s supernatural or as an idolized character. To be someone other than yourself. Well, I managed to widen my social circle a bit though. (^^,)>>

Well, I got to learn that Andy happens to in multi-level marketing during the dinner in Hisatomo. And one of the cosplayers actually showed interest in this trend too. Well, it dawns to me that this trend is slowly taking over. Some of my friends are in this trend too. I have personally been to the talks and frankly speaking, any human will be moved or motivated. Imagine….the freedom to be your own boss. The chance to win a car. The chance to earn much more than others. The benefit of being well taken of. But it appears that people just don’t consider or think what they really want. Being practical isn’t a bad point. Being hot-headed is suicide. You will need much more motivation if you want to survive. As i said, it is a trend. And as humane as ever, people tend to follow it….blindly.

Remember when you are young, do someone always ask these questions? What you want to be when you grow up? Do you have any dreams or ambitions? It’s true that the mind can trick us in believing….but then it’s our mind or in layman terms, ourselves. We can make dreams come true. This still stays a fact.

Day Of Regret

For a moment, I thought that 28th of February was just an ordinary day. Well….it may be special to a friend as his birthday is on the 29th of February. Ha…. Back to topic, erm…..today happened to be the release of ‘O’ Level results.

Thinking back….it has been 7 years. 7 days of regret up to now. I had a chance but I blew it again.

I really wish someone will invent a time machine and I will go and change history. I will have a different life compared to now. But then, my current life isn’t that bad either. Well…just too much “free” will to do stuffs.

Congrats to all who obtain good results and best wishes getting to the tertary insitute of your choice.
